Welcome to PadaLily Living!

ABOUT PADALILY LIVING

You may be wondering what the what is a PadaLily? A PadaLily is simply my grandmother’s name (and now mine) for her favorite plant, the waterlily. She had a deep understanding for the WHOLE plant and not just the flower that most people think of in isolation.

The PadaLily is an amazing plant that roots itself in the dark mud, shoots a stem up to six feet to the surface where the lily pad itself rests on the water transforming sunlight into energy for the plant. This structure allows for the beautiful flowers we all associate with these plants to exist.

To live as a PadaLily is to be rooted (roots), supported (lily pad) and empowered (flower). To rise up from the mud and become the best version of yourself.

Therefore, my mission and coaching philosophy is to support women in taking ownership of their lives, their happiness, and their wellness so they can live every day as the rooted, supported, empowered beings we are all meant to be.

ABOUT ME

MY STORY

I, like most women I know, struggled with a sense of SELF for a very long time. I never really understood who I was, and that made me start to hate myself at a very young age. I was constantly plagued with self-doubt, shame and unworthiness. This belief I had of never being enough played over and over in my mind, touching every part of my life.

MY ROCK BOTTOM

I moved out and left for college at age 17. I still was not sure who I was, what I wanted, or what life was really all about. On the surface, it appeared I had it all together. I did really well in school, had a lot of friends, had a lot of leadership roles that I really enjoyed and worked really hard to make sure everyone was happy. I wanted to see other people succeed because I believed in them. I believed in everyone, but myself.

MY CLIMB

After college, I served in the United States Peace Corps in Ghana, West Africa. I lived in a small village for two years as the only foreigner in a 25 kilometer radius. I had no running water, electricity, transportation, or cell phone. This gave me a lot of time for self-reflection. I journaled, I meditated, I learned a lot about what life is about from the beautiful people of Ghana, especially the children. I wrote a lot of songs and even started sharing them with others (huge win). I was the real me with everyone from the beginning. Simple, absolute vulnerability and authenticity with everyone. I was living and breathing my life’s purpose and vision. Then I went back home.

MY PLATEAU

The steep climb slowly leveled off for the next decade once I returned to the States. The next ten plus years turned into the decade of fitting into a box. The decade of following societal norms. I got married…check. I had kids…check. I started a career to make money…check. I climbed the ladder to make more money…check. I wore all the hats – mom, wife, taxi driver, personal chef, employee, leader, counselor, maid, tooth fairy, Santa Clause, teacher, accountant, etc…check. I was burning out and tired, but kept it up anyway…check. I continued to grow as an individual…no. I was not growing, I was comfortable. My life was good….enough…I guess. But it wasn’t. I had to do something about it.

MY A-HA MOMENT

I began my search. I thought back to what was different when I lived in Ghana. It was simple. I was my authentic self when I lived there because I was living and breathing my life’s purpose and vision and I can do it again…here…now. I realized that I do not fit in any box. I never have and I never will and that is perfect! I have to find my own way through life and it is not the path that is paved. I knew what to do. I have to believe in myself. I have to stop waiting and start living.

MY JOURNEY CONTINUES

I stopped waiting. I stopped trying to fit in a box. I healed myself from the inside out. It took several years to break old habits, change my mindset and really start respecting and loving myself, but I succeeded and my deeply introspective journey continues today. Turns out all my challenges with weight, fatigue, sleep, body image, relationships, and mindset were resolved once I started truly listening to my body, loving who I was, trusting my intuition and stepping out of my comfort zone.

Through my struggle, I found myself and my passion for supporting my fellow busy moms, just like you. As busy moms, we never stop wearing all the hats. The difference is when we believe in ourselves and set our own well-being as a priority, we are able to still be everybody’s hero without losing ourselves.

Stop waiting and start living! If you’re feeling like there is more to this life for you, there is. You deserve to be happy and thriving. You have everything you need within you to create and build the balanced life you need. My systems, tools and support will guide you on your own transformational journey. I found my rhythm balancing career, parenthood and life while continuing to grow into the best version of myself year after year and YOU CAN TOO.
